Ocarina Lessons We accept students as young as 4 into our ocarina program. The ocarina is an ancient flute dating back more than ten thousand years.  It has ties to many different cultures, including South America, China, Japan, and Italy.  Today, although the ocarina is used in some Classical music, it is primarily a folk instrument.  Because it is easier to learn than most other instruments it provides a good introduction to music.  Students who study the ocarina learn the basics of music such as rhythm, pitch, reading music, and musical sensitivity along with the particular techniques of the ocarina.   Students have the option to learn music from a variety of cultures including Ireland (Celtic), Asia, and America.  Playing the ocarina is also a fun and relaxing hobby.
