Hannah grew up in Clinton, South Carolina. She started playing the violin at the age of five. After high school graduation she went to Ohio to attend the Cleveland Institute of Music. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in 1999 as a student of Linda Cerone, and her Master of Music degree in 2001 as a student of William Preucil. She has studied Suzuki Violin Pedagogy with Vera McCoy-Sulentic, Susan Kempter, Carol Smith and Rudy Hazucha.
In September of 2001 she became a member of the Charlotte Symphony, where she spent two years before deciding to move back to Cleveland to become a freelance musician. Upon returning to Cleveland she became a very successful freelancer and teacher, playing with many area orchestras and other groups, forming her own string quartet, and teaching at a variety of schools.
A few years ago Hannah relocated to Saint Louis and now she performs regularly with Winter Opera St. Louis, Serenade Strings, and Elegant Ensembles.
In addition to her musical gifts, Hannah is also a talented writer. Recently she won an essay contest sponsored by Thomastik Strings. Her winning essay on "Tone" was published in the Suzuki Association of the Americas' Summer 2009 Minijournal. |
