Dennis received his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Violin Performance at Indiana University at Bloomington where he studied with Miriam Fried. Before coming to the United States, he studied with Charmian Gadd at the Sydney Conservatorium in Australia.
As a performer, Dennis has played as a soloist with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. His recitals have been nationally broadcast across Australia. While in Australia, he won numerous competitions in the solo and chamber music categories. After completing his Master's degree, Dennis joined the Fort Wayne Philharmonic in Indiana. He later held the position of Principal Second Violin with the Knoxville Symphony in Tennessee. From 2001 to 2003, Dennis was the Associate Concertmaster of the Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra in Illinois.
As a teacher, Dennis has taught students at various levels of musical development, including those at a very advanced level. While at the University of Illinois, he taught violin lessons at the college level by serving as a teaching assistant. Dennis also served as a faculty member in the Preparatory Department at Millikin University.
Dennis has completed his Doctoral of Musical Arts degree in Violin Performance at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. . |
